Who is organising the Conference?

The Australian Lawyers Alliance is the convenor of the 2024 Medical Law Conference. Further information on Australian Lawyers Alliance and their advocacy work can be obtained by visiting https://www.lawyersalliance.com.au/.

Who should attend the Conference?

The 2024 ALA Medical Law Conference Program has been designed for the following:

  • Solicitors;
  • Barristers;
  • Academics;
  • Medical professionals; 
  • Legal support staff. 

    Can another person from my organisation attend in my place?

    Yes. Such changes must be advised to ALA in writing via email to Events@lawyersalliance.com.au. If you registered at the member rate and your replacement is a non-member, they will need to sign up to the ALA or pay the different between the member and non-member rate. 

    Can I cancel my registration?

    All cancellations must be advised to ALA in writing via email to Events@lawyersalliance.com.au
    Free cancellation until Friday, 21 June 2024. If you submit your request to cancel after this date you can organise a delegate replacement or if not possible the ALA will provide a copy of the event recordings post event. 

    Do the registration fees include insurance?

    Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind for delegates. It is strongly recommended that participants take out their own general travel insurance. It is suggested that the insurance policy should also cover loss of fees/deposit, airfares, accommodation charges, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and repatriation expense.

    The insurance should cover loss arising from the cancellation of the Conference by the organisers or a person’s inability to attend due to any reason whatsoever. No responsibility is taken by the ALA for any person not holding insurance.

    Disclaimer

    In the event of industrial disruptions, ALA cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred by delegates. The program is correct at the time of printing, but the organisers reserve the right to alter the program as is deemed necessary.

    Liability

    ALA shall not be held liable for personal accidents or losses or damage to private property of registered delegates of the Meeting. Delegates should make their own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.
